The Victorian Government is removing 22 dangerous level crossings, including the one at Clyde Road, Berwick as part of a $15 billion investment to upgrade the Pakenham line that will make it level crossing-free by 2025.
Work will be conducted around the clock from 12am Monday 10 January 2022 to 11.59pm Sunday 20 February 2022 during a closure of Clyde Road and the Pakenham line. During this time the level crossing and boom gates will be removed, a new rail bridge, signalling equipment and track will be installed, a new road underpass will be dug out, the new road surface will be created and shared use paths will be built.
During this closure period, our Berwick Nissan and Berwick Kia sites will remain open, and will be accessible. Please see the map below on how to get to us:
Works will take place 24 hours a day within the rail corridor and along Clyde Road during these times. We’ll notify impacted residents and businesses directly and minimise impacts where possible.
Traffic controllers will be in place to help motorists move safely through the area. Allow extra travel time and expect delays.
